Dr Nicole Bertram

BSc, MBBS, FRACP (General Paediatrician & PEM), FACEM, MPHTM

Nicole is a dual-trained physician specialising in General Paediatrics & Paediatric Emergency Medicine. She developed an interest in Medicine during her high school years and always wanted to pursue a career working with children. Paediatrics was the perfect fit.

As a mother, Nicole understands how distressing it is when your child is unwell or in pain, and that long waiting times at the Emergency Department or for a Specialist appointment only add to that stress. This is why she is pleased to offer specialist care in a snap!

Training & Development

Dr Nicole Bertram completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and began her Paediatric training at the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. This training program has allowed her to work across multiple departments in several Hospitals throughout South East Queensland.

She has extensive medical training and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians recognises her as a dual-trained physician specialising in General Paediatrics & Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

In 2019, and after starting a family of her own, she relocated to the Sunshine Coast where she undertook further training and obtained a fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine making her a dual trained Emergency Physician as well.

Alongside her medical qualifications, she has also completed a Masters of Pubic Health and Tropical Medicine through the James Cook University in Townsville.

Nicole enjoys teaching formally and on-the-run. She is Senior Lecturer at Griffith University and an Australian Paediatric Life Support Instructor where she supports the education of other medical professionals in caring for critically unwell children.
